Rydal Water
Rydal Water was formerly known as Rothaymere, or the lake of the
Rothay river, after the river that flows into it from the east. Rydal
Water is only 1.2 km in length, 0.4 km wide and 16.764 m at its deepest
point.
The River Rothay connects Rydal Water to the larger Grasmere
Lake to the west of Rydal Water.
