Eskdale

Eskdale Valley to the west of the county has its head at Esk Hause and the foot at Newbiggin. The River Esk flows powerfully through this beautiful terrain.

Only partially navigable by car, this valley remains one of the wildest in the county and has been described as a 'walker's valley'.
