Watendlath

The 'hidden valley' of Watendlath certainly has one claim to fame: featuring in Walpole's "Judith Paris" and "Rogue Herries" novels. Bounded to the northeast by High Seat (608 m) and Ullscarf (726 m) to the south, this area is in the centre of one of the most outstanding areas of natural beauty in the country.

Watendalth Tarn is fed from the south by Blea Tarn and outflows to Watendlath Beck in the north. This desolate, isolated tarn offers magical views across the surrounding fells.  more
