Alston

Alston sits to the very east of the county on the Pennines. Accessible from the A686 this isolated area offers unparalleled views of the Pennines and, on a clear day, the splendour of the Lake District.

To the south of Alston stands an impressive line of fells ranging from Melmerby Fell (710m) at the northernmost end to Little Fell in the south (743m), guidebooks and maps area available for the more intrepid visitor. more
