Barrow-in-Furness
Built on the success of the once burgeoning steel works industry,
Barrow-in-Furness is known today as the largest manufacturing base
for submarines and other marine craft in northern England. Located
on the Morecambe Bay, Barrow rests at the end of what was once famously
described as the "longest cul-de-sac in Britain".
A drive along the coast from Barrow to Ulverston
offers stunning views across the bay to Lancashire
