Broughton-in-Furness
Situated just inside the Lake District National Park Broughton-in-Furness
rests close to the mountains and the shores of southern Cumbria. Although
parts of the town date from the 11th century, many buildings date
from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The centre point of the impressive Market Square is a 19th century
obelisk erected in honour of the Silver Jubilee of George III. The
area around the market square is ringed with proud Georgian houses
of great character.
