Cark-in-Cartmel
Cark-in-Cartmel, set close to the sea, is today a charming, quiet
village but was once, in the 18th and 19th centuries, a bustling centre
for the nearby mills. Located between the lovely villages of Cartmel
and Allithwaite,
a short trip down the B5277 brings the traveller to modern Cark-in-Cartmel.
Cark airfield is host to a variety of exhibitions from the regular
'car-boot' sales to parachuting displays and rally car driving.
