Grange-in-Borrowdale
Grange-in-Borrowdale is a small hamlet in the picturesque Borrowdale
Valley under the gaze of Ullscarf. The name Grange-in-Borrowdale
means "granary in the valley with a fort" and was one of
the northern granaries for Furness Abbey at Barrow-in-Furness.
There has been a settlement in the area since at least the 7th century
and today the area is a popular destination for travellers seeking
the breath-taking delights of the rugged Cumbrian countryside.
