Kirkby Stephen

Kirkby Stephen lies to the far east of the county to the south of Appleby and to the north east of Kendal in the beautiful Eden valley. This busy place is easily accessible via the A685.

Kirkby Stephen is a popular destination for walkers keen to traverse the nearby Pennines and the more easterly peaks of the Lake District. In the town is the 13th century St.Stephen's church, famous for the 'Bound Devil' figure of Satan that rests in the church.
