Near Sawrey

Near Sawrey is set on the shores of Esthwaite Water and is a beautiful village to the west of Lake Windermere and to the east of Hawkshead. Location aside however, what really attracts people to Near Sawry is the legacy of Beatrix Potter.

Famously domiciled at "Hill Top" in the village (a c17 farmhouse), Potter created many of her best loved characters in Near Sawrey.
